SENCHA KYUSHU ISLAND organic green tea

Sencha, Japan’s most popular and beloved type of tea, comes from tealeaves that are steamed before drying to preserve their fresh, green flavor, potent antioxidants, and health-promoting properties. This reserve-grade sencha comes from the Yabukita plant cultivar, and offers a bright, vegetal flavor evocative of fresh rain in a spring meadow, with hints of buttered snow peas and sunflower seeds. Brew with water slightly below boiling (160-180°F) for 1½ -3 minutes to maintain this tea’s inherent sweetness, smooth mouthfeel, and dewy, umami flavor.

Tin Size: Our elegant, embossed tin is designed to keep tea fresh and full of flavor. Each tin holds approximately 48 teaspoons (16 tablespoons) of loose tea. The number of servings-per-tin varies depending upon the type of tea, leaf size, cup size and desired strength (amount of tea used). The tin itself measures 6.25 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Although the tin holds 16 fluid ounces by volume, the actual ounce weight of the tea within varies depending on the density of each specific type of tea.

Sample Size: Samples are packaged in re-sealable foil bags that contain approximately 6 teaspoons (2 tablespoons) of loose-leaf tea. One sample brews between 2-6 cups depending on desired strength.

The bag itself measures approximately 3 inches wide, 5 inches tall and 0.5 inches deep.
