An intricate flower carving decorates the lid of this box, and three flowers are etched on each side. Open it up for one more surprise flower, carved in relief on the bottom. Native to the Tabaka Hills of Kenya, kisii is a soft soapstone, easy to carve into many forms. Its satiny finish is achieved through multiple stages of sanding, followed by waxing.
